Venus passed her mock Canine Good Citizen test with ease on 12/26/13!

Welcome to Venus, our little goddess of love! She arrived on 11/14/13, is about 3 years old and 33 lbs. She is calm, sweet and gentle -- we ADORE her! She really enjoys being pet and is good about body handling, no food guarding issues towards people, and a perfect lady in the car.

Venus plays very nicely with Kindle, Diggs, Toby and Monty, and she's beginning to show interest in toys, too. She usually walks nicely on leash, knows sit, down, stay, leave it, come, give, touch, and accepts crating. She was also great during a recent nail trim.

A minor imperfection we've been able to flush out is that Venus guards prize chewies from other dogs. Toys, on the other hand, she's happy to share w/other dogs.

Venus can be a little shy at first with some strangers, especially tall men with deep voices. Given a few minutes to warm up and make the first move to greet, combined with some nice treats, usually helps her turn around quickly.
