Pikachu might have an odd name, but he is one terrific dog! He was on the euthanasia list at a Manhattan shelter because they had no space available for this large gentleman. Pikachu was taken to the shelter by a heartbroken family that had owned him for his entire life, after the new landlord told them Pikachu was too big to stay.

Pikachu is about 6 or 7 years old, and is possibly a Great Pyrenees mix or a Saint Bernard mix, but not quite as big as either of these gentle breeds. He is about 65 lbs, and very mellow and sweet. He is somewhat reserved, but once he warmed up to his foster family his wonderful personality became apparent and he is now right at home. He loves to go for walks and play outside, and seems to prefer playing and interacting with humans rather than the other dogs in his foster home, although he does appear to enjoy their companionship. Inside, he is the perfect companion, laying at your feet or tenderly offering you his paw. He is very affectionate and once he bonds with you he will be your friend forever.

Pikachu is up to date on all his shots, neutered, housetrained, and microchipped. He is crate trained, but he is not destructive when left alone uncrated. If you like the strong, quiet type of dog, Pikachu might be the perfect match for you!
