Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tessa is a very sweet mixed breed pup who would love to have people of her own! She is about 7-8 months old and is a funny girl. She is very much a free spirit! She has a lot of fun, with other dogs and people or just by herself. She is just one of those dogs who truly knows how to enjoy life. She runs and skips with excitement at random times. She's even been caught throwing the ball for herself, we laugh at her all of the time. She knows how to 'sit' and is working on leash skills, though she will need someone who is willing to help her finish learning. Tessa has a bit of a shy personality and will take some time adjusting to her new situation, but once she opens up, she is full speed ahead! She is a submissive girl and would be just fine with another dog, she may even enjoy having another dog to teach her how to run the house. She is also fine with cats, granted that they are used to dogs. She will be a medium-large dog when she is grown and is already about 30-35 lbs.
Tessa and her sister were rescued when they were abandoned and started exploring too closely to the road. One of our volunteers saw them almost get hit by an eighteen wheeler and called immediately. We were able to rescue them from the old garage they had been calling home and boy, have these scared little girls come a long way!
Tessa has been fully vetted (spayed, had her rabies shot, had all puppy (DHLPP) shots, and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention) and is ready to go! She will be microchipped prior to adoption. She is estimated to be a pit mix by our vet and is definitely a unique looking gal. She will need a home with no breed restrictions. Please e-mail if you are interested in giving Miss Tessa Marie a family!
