Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lucy is coming back to our care in the hopes of finding that true quiet retirement home. Her family absolutely adores her but just haven’t been able to integrate Lucy with the resident cats and feel she can do better.
Lucy still lacks confidence in new situations but has come a long way since we first met her. She may bark sometimes at strangers coming into her house but warms up quickly. Once she gets to know you, be prepared for an enthusiastic face wash and invasion of personal space as only a pit bull does! She loves to greet you at the door or first thing in the morning with an endearing full body wiggle and something stuffed in her mouth to show off. If a toy isn’t handy, a sock or shoe will do! She isn’t particularly comfortable in a crate but well behaved left home alone and completely house-trained.
Lucy has lived with many different dogs of all sizes, and shares well with friends. Her favourite canines are smaller than her and really bring out her playful side. Lucy's best friend is a Dachshund! She can get excited about new dogs on the street so a slow introduction is best.
A scar along one rear leg suggests knee surgery in the past so low impact exercise is preferable for Lucy…although watching her leap and charge for a ball would lead you to think she is much younger than her 10 years! Luckily, she is content with a relaxed stroll around the block each day, and she’ll let you sleep in first. Off leash excursions are welcome too; Lucy has good recall at the park and is not the type to wander away from her person. Please contact us if your home might offer this loyal girl the peace and predictability she deserves.
Lucy is due for a dental cleaning and would greatly benefit from sponsorship! Visit our site to learn more: www.sitprettpit.ca .
