My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

River is a super mellow and sweet FIV+ female cat. She is only several years old and is available now for adoption. Like other cats we have helped find homes for, she is otherwise healthy and the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus can remain dormant for many many years. Although a bit unpredictable, FIV does not automatically equal illness or early death. She could have a long healthy life. Most important is for her to be free of stress, receive lots of love and be
given a good diet.

We are hoping someone will give her a chance at a happy life and good companionship. She is current on vaccinations, spayed and all the usual incentives come with adopting her. She is currently staying in Bergen as we are sponsoring her.

River is microchipped but would not find her owner. Her chip was not registered and we tracked the trip to a distributor in Rochester who sold that chip to vet quite a few years ago. We called about dozen vets with no success. She was obviously someone's pet and was cared for enough for them to have a vet microchip her. Therefore, it is possible, although improbable, that she is vaccinated against FIV which would lead to a false positive FIV test.
