My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bertie is a 4 ½ year old altered male Boston terrier, with so much character in his sweet little face! Bert has some trust issues and has done extremely well in his foster home – he now cuddles and listens and has learned to share. His forever home has to be prepared to accept his apparent “standoffishness” until he has learned to trust them and warms up to them. Bert is excitable and could be compared to a hyperactive child – when he gets excited he can become unruly – this behaviour has been dealt with in the foster home with discipline and love. Bert requires a schedule for eating – he must be fed the same time every day. He also cannot digest most treats or chewies so he must be kept on his diet at all times. He is housebroken, but in a new home it can be expected that there might be some accidents. Bert is very, very energetic and loves his toys. Bert needs to go to a forever home that has no other animals or children; preferably with someone who is home most of the day. He will definitely require someone to be home most of the day when he first goes to his new home. Bert’s forever home must be prepared for the challenges of handling a “hyperactive child” and be willing to be patient and understanding. This little guy has a heart of gold – and is waiting for a new forever home that can see his shining light!
