My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ginger Snap and Cookie - about 2 ½ years old, house trained, spayed, descented. Preference will be given to a home where they do not have to be confined to a cage much or at all.

Ginger Snap and Cookie are very playful ferrets. They chase each other all over and wrestle with each other. It is so much fun to watch. They also like to play with humans a lot. They love to run through the tubes and play tag. They both love to play with crochet eggs and some stuffed animals. They are wild to watch playing in the rice.

Cookie and Ginger Snap are 'alpha' ferrets, meaning they will sometimes bully non-alpha ferrets. They have calmed down a lot since being here and very seldom bother the other ferrets. However, I recommend they go to a home with just the two of them or with another alpha ferret. They are not alpha with humans at all.

As with any ferret, they will sometimes try and leave their scent as part of being alpha. For Cookie, it means she will sometimes poop just a teeny bit here and there to show this is her territory. She is doing better with it and will almost certainly stop when they get to a home where there are not so many ferrets around and new ferrets coming in frequently.

Cookie has the very beginning of adrenal disease, which 75% of ferrets will get in their lifetimes. It is not life threatening unless untreated. Treatment for now is a melatonin implant every four months. Her next implant will be done before being adopted. I do the implants at the rescue for $40. Eventually adrenal surgery is needed. My vet in Cartersville does the surgery for $236. The rescue will pay $75 toward the surgery.

$45 for the pair. Adoption fees help pay vet bills. There is an adoption process. They do NOT come with a cage, though I sell cages cheap. They do come with enough food and soup for two weeks, bedding with their scent on it and some Ferretone. I sell other supplies cheap, including: water bottles, litter pans, leashes, harnesses, shampoo, food, sleep sacks, hammocks, nail trimmers, Ferretone, Bi-Odor, tunnels, tubes, etc.
