My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE – 10 May 2014: Emily is a very kind and affectionate beagle. She loves both other people and other dogs! She will play and wrestle with our other dogs until she gets tired and decides to either sun herself on our deck or sink herself into our sofa. But Emily likes human attention most of all and thrives on it. Both of us work full-time and we have not seen any separation anxiety with Emily. We surmise this is because she is content when she is with other dogs and not completely alone.
We have never heard Emily growl even when our other dogs bug her. So we often say to one another “she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body”! Also Emily doesn’t bark much so if you are looking for a quiet dog, she is it. At least until she starts snoring that is. Emily is the snoring champ at our house but it’s a cute snore. So overall, Emily is a very easy dog. She comes when called and keeps her crate clean. We are 99% sure Emily is house broken. Take a look at Emily when you get a chance. We think she would be great with any age child, dog, or adult.
5 APRIL 2014: Emily is a very affectionate, curious gal, who is looking for a new foster (or forever!) home. She was being fostered by a terrific family, but they discovered that she has separation anxiety. When left alone, (without other human or canine company) she becomes very upset and unhappy. This leads us to believe that Emily will need a foster home and, ultimately, a forever home that includes another dog (specifically one that doesn’t mind sharing human affection – see below). Emily LOVES people and would likely also benefit from a household with at least one person home during most the day.
17 FEBRUARY 2014: Emily has a bubbly personality and loves being the center of attention being showered with pets and kisses. She walks well on leash but insists on meeting everyone – human and dog. She would do well having access to a dog park. She can be an only dog or with another dog who is aloof as she tends to push her way into getting ALL the attention. She has a clue about house training and a good schedule of potty breaks will complete the process. She does need to be crated when left alone as she is super curious and has no fear of heights or falling. If you open your heart to this beautiful soul, she will love you unconditionally. She is just looking for someone to love her back. She loves riding in the car and will curl up on the front seat or on the floor in the back.
7 FEBRUARY 2014: Emily is a super friendly girl who is very people-oriented and good with other dogs and kids. She is a very loving and affectionate! Emily is crate-trained and not too far from being house trained. She is good on a leash and loves to walk – the only “downside” of walking her is that she wants everyone she sees to come pet her. It takes a few minutes to re-focus her and get her moving again. Emily does need to work on her house manners – she loves to climb on inappropriate furniture. She would, however, likely be good for an apartment, as she has not been vocal in her foster home.
Quick update – 31 JANUARY 2014: Emily has a personality plus – LOVES everyone and wants everyone to love her.

Emily was an owner surrender along with Flora in Dinwiddie, Virginia. More details coming soon!
