Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ADOPTION PENDING: Wow, what a year so far. I was dropped off in a crate sometime during the early morning hours of New Year's Day outside of the shelter. I was very cold and afraid, but the people at the shelter took very good care of me until they could get me into rescue.
Now I'm in a foster home and thriving. My vet tells me I'm around 5 years old. I'm house trained, get along great with my foster brothers and sisters and I'm not much of a barker. I need to gain a few pounds, which will happen sooner rather than later because I'm actually a pretty good eater. I love to cuddle and if not in your lap, you can find me burrowed under a comfy blanket. If a sweet loving little lap dog is your ideal companion then you just found him.
You can follow me on Facebook while I search for my forever home and you can meet me at Pet Food Express on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland the fourth Sunday of each month from noon to 2PM. You can also set up an appointment to meet me by completing an adoption application on the Power of Chi website (http://www.powerofchi.org/adoption-application/).
I qualify for the seniors for seniors program, which means if you're over 65, my adoption fee is waived. The normal qualification and approval process applies.
Winston is id #14011901 at Power of Chi. Power of Chi adoption fees are $200 for adults and $250 for puppies under 6 months. All Chi's are listed as spayed/neutered, even if they currently are not, since they will be fixed before the adoption is finalized. To adopt a Chi, you must provide one of the following: 1) proof of home ownership (e.g. property tax bill in your name, deed showing title in your name, or mortgage statement in your name); or 2) a rental contract that states dogs are allowed. In addition, all household members (including children) must visit with the Chi you wish to adopt.
