My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dove is an approximately 5 year old spayed female. She has had all her shots, is heartworm negative and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Dove is a very sweet and affectionate girl who comes when called and loves petting. She is crate trained and is doing very well with housebreaking. It was obvious when Dove was brought into foster care that she had never been inside a house before. She does not mess in her crate and has not had any recent accidents when loose in the large backroom and we are working towards full house priviledges. She is very anxious to please. Dove loves toys to chew on and enjoys an occasional treat. When loose in the yard she respects the fence and does not try to get out. She loves a good run and enjoys looking for squirrels, birds, etc. to hunt. Once she saw me come out into the yard with a leash in my hands and came right up and sat down in front of me. She walks pretty well on a leash. She seems to enjoy children and will make a wonderful companion for any family.


Dove was found on the side of the road in very poor condition with her companion, Dover (also listed). She has steadily put on weight and gained in strength and is now doing very well. Dove and Dover are very close and ideally we would like to keep them together. However we realize this is not always possible. Both dogs were found in Catawba, NC. When no one caimed them they were turned over to the ABR to help them find a new forever home.
