My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Gus' foster - Gus is a wonderful guy who gained international fame by being the star of an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for his surgeries (people donated from as far away as Sweden and Australia!). He came to me last July unable to walk (he crawled pulling himself along on his front 2 legs and could not stand on my laminate floor). We feared his legs were deformed and thought I’d evaluate him for quality of life. But X-rays showed his only problem was severe luxating patellas (dislocated knee caps) – a problem fixable with surgery. His case was so acute because he’d been kept in a tiny cage for most of his life and his muscles had never developed. He underwent physical therapy to improve his chances of a success following surgery while we raised the money to have it done. Now, after successful surgeries on both back legs, you would never know he had a problem. During our recent ice storm – Gus walked on the ice and never lost his balance (he did better than I did!). Gus is a Chihuahua/terrier mix who weighs about 9 lbs. He’s neutered, crate trained, housetrained, heartworm negative and has all his shots. He likes other dogs, is good with kids and just a sweetie with a face that melts hearts!
