My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jay had surgery last Thursday, and he is doing well. He had 26 teeth extracted due to the poor condition of his teeth and gums. Even though he has only a few teeth left, he is eating chicken and vegetables like no tomorrow, because he has literally been starving to death. Jay has been on thyroid medicine for about two weeks now, and his hair is starting to grow back. He is really an amazing dog! Jay is approximately 10 years old, weighs 6 lbs. and has been used by a backyard breeder for breeding, and has been terribly neglected. When we picked him up from Maricopa Animal Control, his toenails were so long they curled back into his paws. He has a genetic disease that causes his knees to dislocate every once in awhile. So, whoever had this baby, totally mistreated him and he has probably had a miserable existence for a long time. He also has a slight heart murmur. Jay is being fostered until he is in better health, and he is responding well to love that he has never had before. He is eating chicken and vegetables like no tomorrow, because he has literally been starving to death. His initial vet appointment cost us $180.00, and his surgery cost $571.00. We are hoping to help him back to health, and maybe some day, he will even be adopted by a loving family!
