Here's what the humans have to say about me:
It was a cold and snowy Sunday in late February when Dozer first visited Houndhaven. He had never been to a Doggie Day Spa before and wasn't sure what to expect. You see, Dozer was found lost and alone in a large wooded area and was taken in by Nancy, a kind woman that helps Dobermans in need. Two wonderful volunteers, Jimmy and Terry Tommarello, offered to make the 40 minute drive from West Mifflin to Houndtown, Pa. to have Dozer groomed and pampered. The first order of business was to get Dozer into the shop and let him relax before the spa treatments began. It didn't take Dozer very long to realize that any place that has chew bones this big has got to be a good place! He repeatedly tried to get everyone else to help him chew the bone, but there were no takers. He continued the game of shoving it in everyone's face as if to say "Did you ever see anything like this???"
Finally, the time of reckoning had come. The BATH...
"But wait! I really like a bath!" said Dozer. He enjoyed the soothing effect of the Oatmeal shampoo on his skin and the Hot Oil was a very nice touch. He was the perfect grooming customer. He didn't mind that his new friend Terry was blow-drying his hair. He was very patient as Terry's husband Jimmy held a flashlight to his ears as they were being cleaned.
Then a funny thing happened. I guess it was because he was so relaxed from the bath and all of the attention. He started to dance a little jig and before we knew it...
Faith and Begorrah!!! With a flip of his paw and a twinkle in his eye, he put on his hat and grabbed another chew bone.... It turns out that Dozer is a wee bit Irish.
Dozer is looking for a family to call his own. He hopes that someone will read his story and see that he is a special boy. He doesn't care if his forever family is Irish or not. He only wants someone to love him and possibly share his chew bone.
Please contact his foster mom for more info.
