My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Heff - about three years old, house trained, neutered, descented. Preference will be given to a home where he does not have to be confined to a cage much or at all.

Heff really is a one of a kind ferret. He's got this funny little way he walks and runs. (He's named after Hugh Heffner because he's a lover and has this kind of gimpy walk.) He gets so excited about things. He loves to play with humans. He loves, loves, loves crinkle toys. He'll lie on his back with the crinkle toy between his paws and just have a good time playing. He also loves crochet toys, small tennis balls and rubber rattle balls.

Heff gets excited when playing with other ferrets besides his friend Drifter and can be aggressive when this happens. It is best if he goes to a home with only Drifter or to a home by himself. They both like to play with dogs.

Of note, Heff has an unusual habit of holding his urine for a long time. So, when he goes, it's a lot. If he gets too excited and hasn't gone for a little while, he will start peeing and can't stop. He's best in a home without young children or large dogs.

Heff had adrenal surgery in October '13. He should get a melatonin implant every four months to prevent the right adrenal gland from being affected. I do the implants for $40. Heff will get an implant mid-January.

Adoption fee $25. Adoption fees help pay rescue vet bills. There is an adoption process. He does NOT with a cage, though I sell cages cheap. He does come with enough food and soup for two weeks, bedding and some Ferretone. I sell other supplies cheap, including: water bottles, litter pans, leashes, harnesses, shampoo, food, sleep sacks, hammocks, nail trimmers, Ferretone, etc.
