Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Bessie. Foster Mommy named me that because she says I look like a cow….not really sure what that is…. but I love my new name and make sure Mommy knows it by running really fast when she calls. I am a spaniel mix of some kind. I was saved from a shelter after my last family couldn’t keep me; the nice people there put me in a row of kennels with others that couldn’t meet people because I was so scared and I just sat there shaking because it was so loud and nowhere to hide, I heard them say I was not adoptable. Foster Mommy saw me and told me she didn’t want me to be afraid anymore and that she didn’t believe them and brought me here. Foster Mommy LOVES to snuggle and that makes me super happy. I like to play with the dogs here and when I'm tired, I love go into my kennel and sleep on my soft bed with the edges to snuggle. When one of the dogs moves too fast, it scares me but I'm learning that it is okay and not to be afraid. I like treats and know how to sit and to sit up pretty (to get extra)….shhh don’t tell my secret. At night I like to sleep next to the older girl on the pillows because she is small like me and loves to cuddle. I run really fast and am learning that the leash thing that keeps following me won’t hurt me. Every time foster mom puts it on she gives me a treat (that part I like). I love people but there is so much that is just scary. I think I would love a house with a friend that is my size or is very gentle to play and cuddle with. I am not sure about those little people, they move REALLY FAST and are LOUD so I have to go hide in my kennel to stay safe. I think it would take me a while to get used to little people so a home without them would be best. If you have room in your heart and home for me, I would LOVE to meet you and give you lots of licks. If you would like to adopt Bessie, please apply online at www.codrl.org. Bessie's adoption fee is $125.00
Central Ohio Dog Rescue is not a shelter. All of our dogs are fostered in our homes and treated as family until they are adopted. We will not ship dogs and all adopters will need to complete an application before meeting one of our dogs. Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered will be adopted out with a spay/neuter agreement and refundable deposit. Puppies are NOT adopted out of state. Perspective adopters must be at least 24 years of age to adopt. All pets in the household must be spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations and heartworm. We process many applications and may not respond to every applicant. We try to chose the best home for each dog based upon the individual dog's needs. Please check out our website for additional information: www.codrl.org
