Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Caroline is a super-sweet and affectionate 6-year-old tortoiseshell who adores snuggling. She even turned her visit to the vet into a cuddle session! She loves to give kisses - both the traditional kitty greeting of touching noses, and licking like a puppy. She loves sleeping on the bed with people, and will want to curl up with her face next to yours on the pillow. Although she is so very eager to give love, she is shy with people she doesn't know. But your efforts will be amply rewarded, as Caroline always wants to shower her friends with love and affection.
Caroline is a chatty cat, who wants to share her whole life with you - she is always purring and mrring, and she can be a little loud sometimes. She enjoys window-gazing and is an active cat who enjoys playing with her catnip toys. Her very favorites are wands with feathers and fluffy catnip-stuffed toys for tossing. Caroline is so eager to please that she's a very cooperative cat, even about things like getting her claws clipped.
Caroline has a rather complicated history. For the past 2 years, she had been living with our feral colony, and since she is such a lovebug, we convinced her to come inside and be a housecat. When we got her a check-up, we were very surprised to learn that she was already microchipped. We tried to find her family, but no one had registered her microchip. We traced her chip back to the SF SPCA, and learned that she had come to them after being turned in to the city's Animal Care and Control. She had been adopted out as an undersocialized kitten, and no one had heard anything more about her until she surfaced in our colony. The SCPA also tried to contact her original adopters, but couldn't locate them. She had never been reported missing to the SPCA, ACC or the microchipper, and since she had been on the streets for 2 years, it seems very unlikely that her initial family is looking for her, and so we are trying to find her a really-truly forever family.
Caroline enjoys the company of other cats, and is always inviting them to play with her. She is a bright cat who learns by observation, so she should settle into a new household routine easily. Her open, mellow temperment and adaptability will likely make her a good fit for any family, including ones with other pets and young children. From having lived on the streets, Caroline understands need and suffering, and that makes her the most appreciative cat. She is so grateful for everything you do for her, that she can't thank you enough, and her affectionate gratitude justs bursts out of her. She will make a wonderful, adoring addition to any family. She is spayed, microchipped, FIV/FeLv negative, dewormed and up-to-date on her vaccines.
