Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Georgia, a lovely 2-year-old Shetland Sheepdog x Border Collie mix girl! When Georgia first came to us from a rural Georgia shelter, she was pregnant. She's since raised her seven pups, and most of them have found wonderful forever homes. Now it's Georgia's turn!
Georgia is a petite flower of a girl at just 30 lbs. She's housebroken, crate-trained, and walks very well on a leash. She's extremely loving with people, and just gobbles up any attention you give her. In fact, she's one of those velcro dogs that forms a strong bond with her person/people and would prefer to sleep in your lap or next to you on the couch. Did I also mention she's a beautiful little girl and as smart as a whip? Well, she is!
Georgia does just fine with my two male dogs, but can be possessive and domineering if given the opportunity, especially around other female dogs. She'd probably prefer a home without any other dogs or just one more submissive dog. What can I say, she's a modern girl who has lots of opinions and likes to be in charge! ;)
We do not recommend Georgia go to a home with small children as she has VERY STRONG herding instincts. Lots of noise and activity will only invite her to bark and nip (as her herding dog DNA tells her). Older children are fine, however. Georgia would also do best in a home without cats.
Georgia has been fully vaccinated, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and placed on Trifexis. She is currently being fostered in the Ocala area; her adoption fee is $300.
If you think you would like to give this sweet girl a forever home, contact me at LovingLifeRescue@gmail.com. We do not have an adoption application but instead rely upon an interview process. At a minimum, please share such things as where you live, your household composition (how many children and what ages), your yard setup and/or exercise plan, pets you have and/or had, what happened to those pets, what flea/heartworm medication you used on former pets, your work schedule and amount of time the dog would be alone, if you rent do you have landlord approval, what you are looking for in a dog, etc. The more information the merrier. And there are no "right" answers. Honest! Please include a phone number at which you may be reached, as well as vet references that we may check should you be chosen once the initial application process is complete.
Please note: We do not adopt on a first-come-first-served basis, but rather choose what we think is the best match of adopter and dog based on each dog's unique personality and needs.
Thank you for considering a rescue dog as your next canine companion! ♥
