Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sunset Animal Rescue prefers that all dogs have a securely fenced yard.
As you can see Lucky loves his picture taken and is quite a ham, smiling and showing off.
Lucky is indeed a lucky boy, to have survived living the first of his life with an abuser and he carries the scars to show from it. His sister was beaten with a stick and suffered neurological damage and died a slow and agonizing death. When we got him he was a little afraid of what we would do to him. But as we showed him love and caring, he blossomed into a beautiful, healthy, happy boy. We took him and his brother, Logan, immediately to the Vet where they bathed him, they were covered in fleas, and gave him thorough exams and his shots. Then we had him neutered and micro-chipped. He is on Trifexis for flea and heartworm prevention. Lucky has scars on his stomach and his beautiful head but the hair will grow back. He is very smart and is catching on to commands. He knows what go potty means and will go when to tell him to. He and his brother are now walking on lead and doing amazingly well, until a squirrel or a butterfly crosses the path! Then it's puppy time! He is crate trained where he spends his nights, and has never spoiled his crate and has been in the house without accident. I think he would do well in puppy classes and obedience because he loves to please and catches on quickly. He is sleek and a really beautiful boy with exotic coloring. His legs almost look like someone painted black & tan flames down his legs into his toes. His head and body is black, with a tiny spot on each side of his head in silver. But his legs are tan until you get to his toes and they look like someone has painted each toe with a stripe of black and outlined each toe! His rear is silver so he is handsome coming and going! His personality is a little quieter than his brother, but when he gets to know you he is a real lover. He gives kisses freely. He looks like he has Labrador in him but is not a blocky as a Lab. He is long and sleek. His hair is soft and looks like it will be short to medium in length. He thinks he is a lap dog and loves to sit in your lap. Anything to get extra attention. He would stay in your lap if his brother would stop taking his favorite toy. They play in our dog yard (1/2 acre) and chase toys and play tug with a rope until they are pooped! Lucky would love to have his own child to play with him. Lucky is shy when meeting new people, but if you give him time he does warm up into a playful love bug. Lucky's adoption donation is $250.00. If you think Lucky would complete your family email us at sunsetanimalrescue@yahoo.com and request a SAR questionnaire. Complete this and send it back to us. We will then set up a scheduled visit. We require this because we are a private rescue and run the rescue from our home. So for the safety of the animals and our family this must be done. Let your references know we will be calling so they will feel comfortable giving us the information we need to complete the adoption. Kai F.
