Do Australian Shepherds shed?

Yes, Australian Shepherds are moderate to heavy shedders. They shed most in the spring when they lose their thick winter coat, but they also shed year-round. Their coat consists of a dense, weather-resistant outer coat and a softer undercoat. 

The thickness of their undercoat will depend on the time of year. It gets thicker in the winter to keep them warm and protect against the elements. They start to shed their coat in the Spring so they can stay cool in the Summer.
