Once Upon a Tail is a foster based rescue located in St Tammany Parish in LA. We rescue dogs from every imaginable situation.... strays fending for themselves, man injured with no one else to help them, owner surrenders when they can no longer care for them, far too many from euthanasia lists before they are put down in kill shelters, and others who have been neglected and abused. We continue to ask you, our community to join us to help save all of these dogs so we can find forever homes where they are loved and treated like a member of the family.
We continue to advocate for animals and stay active in fighting for animal welfare in our parish until one day we reach the goal of making St Tammany Parish the first no kill parish in our state. We will remain unafraid and unwavering in doing what it takes, meeting with parish officials, and educating the community to accomplish this. Our hearts break in a million pieces every time we take in the abused, neglected, injured, and thrown away dog, but then every time one by one they find their forever homes, our hearts are made whole once again. It is only with community support, donations, and the amazing foster network that we can continue to be the voice and save so many!
Every Dog's story deserves a Happy "Once Upon a Tail" Ending!
