Rescue FAQs

We rescue cats across New York and New Jersey, with many rescued from NYC. We adopt out to NY, NJ and CT residents and consider adopters further away in certain circumstances.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption and due diligence process ensures that you and kitty are a great match for each other:

1) Phone call - we discuss what you are looking for in a cat and to provide you with more details on the cat you are interested in

2) Adoption application - email hopewellrescueadopt@gmail.com to get an application

3) Meet & greet - meet the cat at his/her foster home to make sure it is a good match

4) Home visit - we visit your home and discuss how to ensure a safe environment for kitty

5) Reference check - We call 3 of your references and your vet

6) Adoption fee - $125 (note that this does not even cover the full costs of rescuing a cat, our cats all get a vet exam, deworming, deflea, spay/neuter, vaccines and microchip before they are adopted out)

7) Kitty comes home - we bring the kitty to you and stay long enough to make sure he/she is settled in
