High Country Basset Hound Rescue

High Country Basset Hound Rescue is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to the welfare and helping abandoned/unwanted Basset Hounds in Colorado. We are an in-home foster rescue and all of our incoming Bassets are placed in loving foster homes.

Bassets come to us for numerous reasons; whether it be employment relocation, owner dies and extended family doesn't want them, picked up as strays and never claimed at the shelter, new baby, irresponsible breeding, just getting old, abused and/or neglected, and the list goes on.

We are solely run by amazing volunteers who all share a common bond helping to save these Basset Hounds.

We serve the entire state of Colorado.

Additional adoption info

We first will have you submit an application from our website. Once we receive and review the application, we will proceed with a phone interview and set up a time for a home visit. Once the Basset is placed with you, we allow a 30 day trial period to get to know you dog and vise versa. After that trial period, the adoption is complete.

Adoption fees are based on the age of the Basset Hound. Please visit our website for more detailed information.
