Southern Dog Rescue- CT

Dog rescue in Glastonbury, CT

Southern Dog is a Houston, Texas based rescue. We are a very small foster based rescue, so the dogs live in home at all times, not in a shelter. Every dog in our rescue either comes from a kill shelter in Houston or straight off the streets. Our goal is to save as many dogs as we can from the deplorable animal overpopulation in the south. Just Houston has over 1.2 million stray animals at all times, hundreds of thousands of dogs living on chains their whole lives, and over 100,000 dogs euthanized for space every year. Our goal is to get as many dogs as we can out of the south and into loving, forever homes in the northern states, while trying to educate about spay/neuter in Houston and enact animal welfare/breeding legislation.
