We work for the City of Jacksonville Animal Control and Shelter. The Animal Control division is part of the Police department. We only have 10 kennels for dogs and 12 kennels for cats. We work with out of state rescues and animal rescue groups all over the country. We have about 99% success rate in getting the animals to safe adopted pet parents, to rescues and/or to foster parents. We have not put any animals down for over crowding since we have been open. Which is approximately one year.

Additional adoption info
Our dog adoption fee is $40.00 which includes a microchip. All our animals are microchipped prior to leaving the shelter. There is an adoption application that must be filled out prior to adopting your dog. If the dog is not spayed or neutered you will have to sign a sterilization contract with us and the adoption is not legal until you bring us back a copy of where your dog was spayed/neutered and a copy of the rabies certification. Some of our dogs and cats have been spayed /neutered. On cats the adoption fee is $40.00. As with the dogs, adoptions aren't legal until animal has been given a rabies shot and been spayed/neutered.
