Hootie’s Rescue Haven was founded by our veterinarian (Kim) and her husband (Tim) in memory of Kim's rescue dog, Hootie. We are a non-profit rescue for pets in need of medical care and forever homes. We are the only no-kill animal shelter in Franklin County. Animals come to our 40-acre farm from all walks of life; we provide each of them with unconditional love, safe and comfortable living quarters, plenty of time outdoors for walks and playing, the highest quality food, and the best medical care possible. Unless otherwise noted, all of the furry kids in our care live at the rescue, which is conveniently located in Kim and Tim's home (on the farm).
We are also an animal sanctuary. We currently have 12 dogs, 11 cats, 3 horses, a pony, a rabbit, 18 chickens, and 3 roosters living full-time at our facility. Due to their individual history, temperament, and/or a continuing need for extensive medical care, these animals will live out their lives with us. In addition, we provide a respite for many animals as they are rehabbing on their way to a forever home. (We currently have 3 dogs in this phase of their journey.) Finally, we always have pets in need of forever homes. These numbers vary from day-to-day.

Additional adoption info
If you are interested in adopting an animal from us, you should note the following:
• We require a home visit before we place any animal
• All animals must be indoor pets
• Dogs must have a fenced-in yard or a comparable secure outdoor area
• There are no adoption fees (donations are welcome)
• We are here to support you for the lifetime of your pet(s)
• If you are no longer able to care for your animal for ANY REASON at ANY TIME during his/her lifetime, we ask you return them to us for care and/or re-homing. We require our forever parent(s) to sign a contract, to that affect.
All of our animals have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up-to-date on vaccines. Puppies/kittens may go to a forever home before they're old enough to be neutered or chipped. In these cases, we require the forever parent(s) to sign a spay/neuter contract; we will cover the cost of the procedure(s) and any shots needed within the first year, at the appropriate time(s).
