Additional adoption info

A New Leash On Life Program*** (NLOL) Adoption Fee is $135, which includes being up-to-date on vaccines, neutered or spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on heart worm and flea prevention. It also includes one free training session with a master dog trainer for the adopter and their newly graduated NLOL dog. Each approved adopter will also receive a handwritten journal documenting their NLOL dog's journey through the training process. Please note, the submission of an application does not guarantee approval.

Adoption Process:
(1) Submit a completed Adoption Application (found at www.PalsforPaws.org) to Jennifer@PalsforPaws.org or to our mailing address.
(2) Veterinary reference check (if applicable) for your application.
(3) Home Visit will be arranged
(4) Meet & Greet will be scheduled
(5) Graduation Ceremony

***The NLOL program is a unique and very rewarding program that takes dogs out of a local shelter and places them in a high performance training program. The dogs are trained for a period of 8 weeks by inmate trainers at the Craven Correctional Institution. The inmates are taught proper training techniques under the direction of a Master Dog Trainer at the Craven Correctional Institution. At the end of the 8 week program, NLOL adopters will be invited to come to their NLOL dog's graduation and view for themselves what s/he has learned, as well as the opportunity to meet their inmate handler/trainer. At the end of the ceremony, NLOL adopters will get to take their new NLOL dog home with them!
