Gary became a private pilot in May 2011 at the age of 36. He wanted to do something useful with the new skill other than just practice landings. He did a couple of missions for Pilots N Paws. He was then asked if he could drive dogs which led into years of transporting for many rescues. He then created Help For The Dogs to raise money for transports and anything that could be done.
In 2015, Gary’s wife Amy expressed the interest to pull dogs under the charity. She thought she could work with foster dogs and fosters ‘fur’ parents the same way she worked with hundreds of foster kids through the state of Georgia.
In 2016 after Gary and Amy had their son, they registered with the state and city to be licensed. Now Help For The Dogs, Inc. is able to pull dogs as a rescue to be fostered/adopted out.
