Paws up 4 Rescue

Animal rescue in Joliet, IL

Paws Up is a no kill, all volunteer animal rescue organization serving Joliet, Illinois and surrounding areas. We are dedicated and passionate about rescuing any animal from shelters where overcrowding may lead to euthanasia, as well as those suffering from abuse and/or neglect. We are a 100% foster based animal rescue meaning we rely on generous volunteers to take the animal into their home and care for them while they await their forever home. We are committed to providing our animals with the best care by helping them acclimate to life outside of a shelter and providing them with the necessary vet care. We also strive to help our community by educating the public about spaying and neutering, and by encouraging responsible pet ownership.

At Paws Up we truly believe that All Lives Matter.

Additional adoption info

Adoption
Dog/Cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog/cat and you'll have a friend for life! What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder? When someone is breeding puppies/kittens they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten. If we don't have what you're looking for we suggest that you check your local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or other pet rescue groups.
1. Find the animal in which you are interested in

2. Fill out an Adoption Application (below)
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD
YOU MUST HAVE IDENTIFICATION WITH YOUR CURRENT ADDRESS
If you rent your home, you must have consent from your landlord to adopt.
You must accept the responsibilities that go along with having a pet, including the time and money required to ensure the animal receives proper training and medical treatment.
Filling out this application does not automatically guarantee an adoption. It is just the first step.
PLEASE BE AS DETAILED AS POSSIBLE AND LEAVE NOTHING BLANK - Whether or not we choose to move forward with the adoption process completely depends on the information provided to us.

3. If your application is approved we will contact you to schedule a meet and greet. You may be required to come to our adoption event or a home visit will be arranged. Please be patient. The application process takes several days as we are a volunteer based rescue.

4. If the home visit is required an approved the foster parent(s) will schedule a time for the final adoption.

5. Once you've fallen in love and want to proceed with the adoption it will be finalized with the Adoption Contract. You will receive the vet records and the Adoption Fees will be collected by cash or credit only..

6. You have now saved a life and have given them their forever home and we thank you!

Our adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal test, deworming and all age appropriate vaccinations such as Rabies, Distemper vaccine and Bordetella vaccine.
