HERO DOG RESCUE

Dog rescue in CUMMING, GA

Hero Dog Rescue is a Georgia-based not for profit organization dedicated to saving abandoned, abused and neglected dogs from high kill shelters.

We believe that no animal should die without knowing a loving home. To that end, through our 100% volunteer operated organization, we work with dogs of all breeds and ages and place them in loving foster homes.

Rescue FAQs

Georgia for all dogs. Surrounding states for dogs over 6 months.

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Puppies - We do not adopt puppies under 16 weeks to out of state adopters. This is due to our spay/neuter policies, and all dogs must be spayed/neutered before leaving Georgia state lines. We do not adopt siblings to the same household.

Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter, and are a foster-home based organization. Other than meeting our babies at events, we do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $375 for dogs under 16 weeks and $375 for all other dogs. We require potential adopters to apply on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt.

Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog.

We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.
