Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from East Lake Pet Orphanage. Adoption is one of the most meaningful and rewarding decisions you will ever make. We work hard to make the best possible matches between people and pets for the mutual enrichment of life.

We also understand that sometimes unforeseeable situations occur. If, for any reason, an adoption is not successful, a pet may be brought back to us within 30 days, no questions asked. Please note that as a non-profit, the adoption fee is a non-refundable donation to our rescue. We feel strongly that if a match is not right for you, it won't be right for the pet either. As a no-kill shelter we remain committed to finding the best, permanent, loving homes for each pet. The one time adoption fee is $225.

All Adopted Pets Receive the Best in Pre-Adoption Care:
East Lake provides comprehensive medical evaluations and the broadest immunization coverage for each pet in our care.

We go above and beyond to offer the highest level of medical care that many other rescues may not be equipped to provide. We are committed to meeting every pet's unique medical needs, which often require thousands of dollars in treatments for those with special needs. This extensive care ensures that each pet is given the best possible chance for a happy, healthy life.

Pre-Adoption Care Provided:
Veterinary examination
Health assessment
Nutritional assessment
Behavioral assessment
Spay / Neuter surgery
Microchipping
Intestinal parasite screening
Deworming
Age-appropriate vaccinations
Comprehensive laboratory evaluations and heartworm testing
+ FREE post-adoption veterinary examination and discounted vaccinations

East Lake vaccines are curated based on the highest margin of safety, the broadest spectrum of coverage, and fewest side effects possible. Often, a better vaccine comes at a higher price, but we believe each pet deserves the best in care and treatment.
