Good Karma Dog Rescue

Dog rescue in Bergen County, NJ

Good Karma Dog Rescue (GKDR) is a volunteer based, registered non-profit rescue organization in New Jersey (EIN#: 47-5080441). The animals brought into GKDR’s care have a variety of backgrounds. Some of the animals are surrendered by their owners due to difficult family situations, others have been severely neglected or make their way to GKDR via high kill shelters. Regardless of their past, all the animals that are taken under GKDR’s care have one thing in common, a second chance!

We are focused on providing high quality homes to animals in need - we will do everything we can to prepare our rescues for their new forever families. We fight against stereotypes of the pit bull breed, educate the public on prevention of animal cruelty, animal behavior and training, and the importance of spaying/neutering.

Additional adoption info

Good Karma Dog Rescue’s adoption process is as follows:

• Once we receive your application, the Good Karma Dog Rescue Board of Directors will review it to see if the dog you are interested in may be compatible with your family.
• Once your application has been screened, we will arrange a meet and greet with you and your family members (including pets) and the dog you are interested in.
• During this time, one of our foster coordinators will be contacting your references and your veterinarian.
• If the meet and greet was successful, and any other potential adopters have been ruled out, we will move ahead with the adoption.

The adoption fees are as follows:
Dogs under the age of 2 - $350
Dogs 2 - 7 years $300
Dogs over 8 years: $250

All dogs adopted from Good Karma Dog Rescue will be spayed or neutered, current with age appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will have a clean bill of health.
