Tank's Legacy

Animal rescue in Port Charlotte, FL

All of our fosters are animal lovers that want to save as many lives as possible, but our ultimate goal is to make sure that the ones we save have a wonderful life. It's very important to us to make sure everyone is happy.

Tank's Legacy was started in honor of a rescue dog named Tank. His story is on our website.

Rescue FAQs

We are a small 501c3 that pulls dogs and cats from local shelters that are scheduled to be euthanized. They are cared for in a loving home environment, vetted, and socialized so they can become a forever family member.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee varies based on the age of the dog. Puppies to 1 year are $300. 1+ to 7 years old is $275. 7+ is $250. These fees help cover the extensive vetting these dogs usually require and help us save special cases like Scooter. Please visit our website or email for more information.
You must complete an adoption application. Once your application is reviewed and references checked, including vet, you will be called to set up a home visit. If you are approved, then a meet and greet will be scheduled. If that goes well, then you can have your new furry baby!
We will do a two week follow up visit as well to see how you are all adjusting.

None of our fosters will be kept outside, especially on a chain. These are family members. If you cannot keep them inside with you, then please look elsewhere.
