SPCA of Solano County

Animal shelter in Vacaville, CA

The SPCA of Solano County is a 501c3 adoption guarantee animal shelter dedicated to finding a loving responsible home for every adoptable animal in Solano County and neighboring communities.

We aim to reduce pet overpopulation and surrender rates through services through our low cost spay/neuter clinic which we are proud to say has performed over 20,000 in the last 3 1/2 years, and providing education to the public. We also strive to make the public aware of the importance of companion animals in our community. Please consider donating to your local animal shelter. We are also very pleased to offer low/cost high volume spay and neuter services, a retail pet supply store (not a thrift store), pet adoptions, pet loss support group, animal assisted therapy, and monthly vaccination and microchipping clinics.

We are also pleased to offer a Pet Loss Support Group that meets the first Tuesday of every month from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. This is a free service and no appointment is necessary.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process is the same for dogs and cats. All people that reside in the home must come to meet with the potential new pet. All current dogs must come meet the new dog prior to approving the adoption. We must have proof from the landlord n writing that the tenant can have a dog of the breed they are looking to adopt. If they own the home they must bring proof that the own it. All animals are vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped prior to being placed up for adoption. All pets are cleared for adoption by our shelter veterinarian and cats have a negative felv/fiv comobo test. Fees range from $45-$75 for cats and kittens and $100 - $350 for dogs and puppies.
