Good Shepherd Humane Society, Inc. was founded in 1974, in Eureka Springs, AR. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is supported solely by donations, adoption fees, membership subscriptions and fund raising events. We also benefit from the Good Shepherd Humane Society Doggie Thrift Stores, where all proceeds go directly to the Animal Shelter. The stores are located in Eureka Springs, AR. & Berryville, AR.
Our Mission:
To care for the stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs and cats of
Carroll County, placing as many as possible into loving homes.

To promote responsible pet ownership and humane treatment for all animals.

To help reduce pet-overpopulation by promoting and providing low-cost spay/neuter programs.

GSHS has a fifty year history of caring for pets in need. We are located in beautiful northwest Arkansas, and we transport dogs and cats to adoptive homes in the northeast.

Additional adoption info

Our fees are structured to cover the costs of each animal's spay or neuter, vaccinations, deworming, transportation to their adoptive home, and to help support our rescue efforts here in Arkansas.

To inquire about adopting a dog, give us a call or send us an email and we will promptly reply with information about the dog and our adoption process and an application.
