The International Street Dog Foundation aims to aid dogs in need all around the world. From victims of the Southeast Asian dog meat trade, to street dogs from Cancun to Kuala Lampur, to the garbage dump desi dogs of India, we help wherever we can, as much as we can.
Although our primary focus is on prevention—supporting accredited international spay, neuter, and vaccinate programs wherever street dog populations are abundant—we also work with partners around the globe to adopt dogs in the most urgent need into loving new homes here in the USA.
Many steps must be taken along the way for each of our prevention missions and miraculous adoptions to occur. It is you—our wonderful and concerned ISDF supporters, no matter your current location—and it is your dedication that enable us to pursue our cause, day in and day out. Help is needed at each and every level. Please see what you can do to help.

Additional adoption info
Thank you for your interest in adopting a former street dog from International Street Dog Foundation (“ISDF”). ISDF rescues make wonderful companion pets and will give you many years of love and devotion. This application has been designed to evaluate potential adopters to ensure that each person who adopts an ISDF rescue is not only aware of that responsibility, but also to address the compatibility of the home in which each ISDF rescue is placed.
If interested in adopting an ISDF rescue, please go to www.istreetdog.com to download and fill out an adoption application.
We require that all adopted ISDF rescues go through obedience training with their new owners. The training is as much for the adopters as it is for the dogs. It is critical that the owners use consistent effective methods for communicating and training their dog. Even the best trained dog will develop bad habits if training is not practiced regularly and applied consistently.
As you can imagine the cost of international rescue is quite expensive anywhere from $500 to $1500 per dog depending on many variables. ISDF raises money to cover the majority of the rescue cost to make the cost of adoption comparable to what you would pay for a local rescue.
Our minimum NON-REFUNDABLE adoption fee is $300, however if you are willing and able to donate more it will enable us to help more dogs in desperate need. We are a non-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. The more ISDF must pay out per dog, the less we are able to help the many others awaiting homes of their own.
