Keokuk Animal Services is the City of Keokuk sheltering facility. We have been in our current location at 249 Carbide Lane since 1983. The Animal Control Officer works out of our facility. We have nineteen dog kennels and eighteen cat cages.
We work with licensed rescues and welcome contact from them about any of our animals.
Donations of supplies or funds is always welcome. Contact us to view our 'wish list' or to discuss monetary donations.

Keokuk Animal Services is the City of Keokuk sheltering facility. We take in lost and surrendered dogs and cats from within the city limits of Keokuk, Iowa.
Additional adoption info
The first step in adopting from Keokuk Animal Services is completing our adoption application. Once approved you can adopt any dog or cat that is ours (there is a 7 day stray holding period.) Our adoption fee is $125 for dogs/$85 for cats which covers over $200 of veterinary care for the animal. When using our contracted veterinarians it covers the first visit with an exam, worming, first feline or canine vaccination and rabies vaccination and the animal's spaying or neutering.
