What our love and dedication alone cannot provide, heartfelt donations from others who perhaps also were touched by the unconditional love of their pet(s) will financially benefit dachshunds who otherwise might not survive. With the unselfish assistance of our dedicated and devoted volunteers, 100% of all donations serve to save abandoned, abused and/or neglected dachshunds who deserve happy and healthy lives.
Description
We founded our group in honor of a dear little dachshund named Sophia Grace. Sophia is a sweet little 12-year old dachshund who was rescued from a situation where she spent all her life without receiving any medical care. When she came into rescue she was severely malnourished, sickly and had to have nearly all her teeth pulled. Through the "Grace" of so many selfless contributors we were able to get her the medical care that she so badly needed, and had been denied all her 12 years on earth. She is now in her forevever home in Michigan where she is thriving and grows stronger with each day. It is in her honor that we founded our organization, and we will honor her with every dachshund we are able to help now and for many years to come!

Additional adoption info
Once a interested party has gone to our website and completed our adoption application, the process below begins. First, references are called. This consists of two non-family references and a vet reference. Second, someone from the organization will reach out to the possible adopter and discuss the dog they are interested in and their home environment. Third, a home visit and a possible meet and greet are set up with the dog and potential adopters. If everything is a match, then the adoption contract is signed, the adoption fee is collected, and then the dog is officially adopted. We offer a 14 day money back return policy on all dogs. Our adoption fees are as follows: Less than one year old is $350; one year old to nine years old is $275; older than 10 years old is $150. We also transport our available dogs to adopters, within reason. Transports less than 100 miles from foster home to adopter is free; from 100-150 miles is $35; from 150-300 miles is $50; 300-500 miles is $75; greater than 500 miles is $100. All fees are at the discretion of the Board of Directors and can change in the future. Finally, Sophia's Grace Foundation is a dachshund rescue that sets itself apart by being a matchmaking service for our dogs. We do not just find them homes, we find them the perfect homes for them. We do not operate on a first come, first serve basis.
