Cleveland Area Pound Pals

Dog rescue in Cleveland, OK

Cleveland Area Pound Pals, C.A.P.P., is a group of area citizens working together with law enforcement, city entities, and local vets, to make our area a more informed and responsible pet ownership community. We pull dogs directly out of the city pound after their stray hold is up and place them in foster homes until they find their forever homes. We also promote spay/neutering and have hosted low cost spay/neuter clinics in our community to bring awareness. Our goal is to place every dog that comes into our system into a loving forever home and to give the new family all the info they need to help their new family member succeed.

Rescue FAQs

We are located in Cleveland, Oklahoma. We currently only pull from the Cleveland pound unless we have a foster space open. We are in the process of raising money for our own facility so we are hoping this will soon change!

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees are usually $100 but are lower during holiday seasons. The fee covers on adult dogs: rabies vaccine, deworming, shots, heartworm testing, and spay/neuter. On puppies: two rounds of shots, deworming and spay/neuter. Pups 6 months and older get their rabies vaccine and heartworm test as well. Our adoption process is fairly simple and straight to the point. There is an adoption application that you fill out on our website. Once we receive your app we then contact your vet if you have a vet reference. Once we hear from your vet then we contact you with any questions or concerns or to schedule a time for us to come out to your home and meet you. We call this a homecheck, but it mainly consists of checking out your yard to make sure it is a safe secure environment for your new pet. You are contacted later on that day to let you know if you are approved or not and then we schedule a time for you to come pick up your new family member.
