Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to saving Boston Terriers who are lost, abandoned or surrendered in Florida and the Southeast United States, regardless of age, health or adoptability. Our goal is to nourish each Boston Terrier back to emotional and physical health, providing necessary medical care along with an environment that fosters trust and alleviates fear.
As a rescue organization, we rely on private foster homes spread throughout Florida, Georgia and Tennessee as temporary homes for the dogs we bring into the rescue. We believe this model provides the right environment to get our Bostons ready for their forever homes by receiving the necessary care and training while being part of a loving foster family.
Our foster homes allow our Bostons to play outside and learn how to socialize with humans and other pets. Based on this model, we do not have a permanent facility where prospective adopters/fosters can visit to see our rescues. Instead, our prospective adopters or fosters can view our adoptable Bostons online and fill-out an application. Once approved, our volunteers will work with each applicant to find the best match for their homes.

Additional adoption info
Adopting a dog is a serious commitment. We strongly encourage anyone thinking about adding a new member to their family to spend some time doing research to be ready for this commitment. We are also happy to work with you to figure out what kind of dog is best for you. If you want to have a dog in your home but aren’t sure you can make the 10-20 year commitment, consider participating in our foster program and other volunteer opportunities.
The application process consist of several steps:
1. Submit Adoption Application. Please answer the application questionnaire as honestly and completely as possible. There is a $20.00 non-waivable and non-refundable application fee to ensure applicants are committed to the adoption process. This fee will not count towards the adoption fee. Our rescue reserves the right to reject any application.
2. Application Review. One our volunteers will review your application and check your personal and veterinary references. If you are renting, we will also need to contact your landlord to ensure your new family member will be approved.
3. Phone Interview. A volunteer will contact you to go over your application.
4. Home Visit. We will then set up a home visit to verify your home is a safe place for a Boston. The home visit is also a time where one of our volunteers can answer any questions that you may have and discuss safety precautions with you.
5. Adoption Agreement. Once you are approved, we will send you an adoption agreement with important terms and conditions that you will need to follow.
6. Finding the Right Match. Finally, we will work with you to find the right Boston for your home.
