Chubby's Rest was a group effort that was born out of necessity. In June of 2013 the Westchester Humane Society (WHS) in Harrison, NY closed. Many of the volunteers that had been working so closely together for the benefit of the animals we had grown to love so much felt lost and needed a project. Within a few weeks of the shelter closing, out first rescue came upon our door. We decided that with the help of the people whom we trusted and relied upon so closely on a daily basis at WHS, we would start our home based rescue and stretch out to include a trusted foster network of those same people.
