Mutts & Mayhem Emergency Search and Rescue (MMESAR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2013 by two active duty Paramedics. Our organization operates a specialized boots on the ground Team providing a coordinated effort in the response, search, rescue and capture phases for sick, injured, and elusive stray animals in Collin County. We triage our cases based on their medical and trauma status and sick and injured stray cases are worked first considering the nature of their emergency and location. Cases outside of our service area are accepted on a case by case basis.
MMESAR does not currently have a brick and mortar shelter location open to the public. We receive no federal or state funding and we rely solely on donations from generous individuals, businesses, foundations, and grants to support our programs and services.

Prior to an adoption, all of our animals will have received a thorough Veterinary exam, received treatment needed for any illnesses or injuries they may have incurred prior to their Rescue, they have been spayed or neutered, and they have been vaccinated and have been given Microchip IDs!
Our Adoption Fees range depending on the animal. Careful consideration is taken when determining this fee. We consider the animals’ previous medical expenses, length of time in our care, adopt-ability factors, future needs, etc. Each animals adoption’ fee will be listed within his/her profile information.
We wish that we could simply give our animals to their new adoptive family at zero cost. However, Mutts & Mayhem is a non profit organization who relies solely on individual donations and adoption fees to care for all of our animals on a day to day basis. The cost associated with treating and caring for each animal far outweighs the adoption fee that you pay for that animal through your adoption. Please keep all of this in mind if it seems to you that the adoption fee listed may be too high for that animal.
To be considered for adoption you need to:
•Be at least 18 years old.
•Have knowledge and consent of all adults living in your household
•Have a valid government-issued photo ID
•Have landlords consent to bring an animal onto the property (if applicable)
•Possess zero criminal convictions for Animal Cruelty, Animal Abuse, Family/Domestic Violence or Felony Violent Crimes.
•Understand that Mutts & Mayhem reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any animal to any person.
Through the adoption process, we will ask you to complete an adoption application and we will process it as promptly as possible. For dog adoptions, we do require a home visit prior to the final approval of an adoption application. After your adoption application has been approved, we will complete an adoption agreement with you that is signed by all parties.
After your adoption, if "anything" happens where you can no longer keep or care for the pet that you adopted from us, we will happily accept that animal back into our Rescue, no questions asked.
