Springfield Humane Society

Animal shelter in Springfield, VT

We're a small shelter in Vermont covering 11 towns in Windsor County. We have a small but very dedicated staff, and an active volunteer program. We have been rescuing cats and dogs since our inception in 1941, when a wonderful woman turned her barn into a shelter. Since then we've grown quite a bit and have recently redone our entire kennel area - we have sun tubes for natural light, radiant heat in the floors, a music program and an aromatherapy program. All through the generous donations of the public. Our cats live comfortably in community cat rooms where they are free to roam and climb and play. We have acres of field for dog walking. We have a large puppy room, and a larger still puppy play area outside. We also have a large indoor room for people to meet dogs during inclement weather.
