The Rescue Promise
There is an old Chinese proverb that states: “If you save a life, you are responsible for that life”. Rescue From The Hart honors this philosophy with every animal that we rescue. When we say “yes” to a dog or cat in need, we are making a promise that we will provide them with anything they need to be happy and healthy, for the rest of their life. This means never cutting corners, never take the easy way out and never looking at one of our rescued as just another number. We make the same commitment to our adopters by going the extra mile to help educate them, support them during tragedies, and be there to offer solutions if their lives happen to get turned upside down.
When you support Rescue From The Hart, you help enable us to continue making the “Rescue Promise” to homeless and abandoned pets everywhere!

While our focus is finding homes for our rescued animals in Southern California we occassionally travel anywhere within the USA for the right fit.
Additional adoption info
We pride ourselves as matchmakers and do our best to assist adopters in finding the perfect pet to for within our family.
Thank you for your interest in adopting from Rescue From The Hart. Below you will find information about the adoption process.
1. Complete an online Matchmaking Questionnaire
After we receive your questionnaire, our adoption counselor will get in touch with you for an interview and to discuss a potential meet and greet.
2. If all goes well with the meet and greet, we will schedule a Home Visit. We conduct a home visit to ensure that they will be living in a safe environment and to give you tips about how to best introduce the cat/dog to your home and make the transition as easy as possible.
3. Adoption Agreement and Donation: Next, both the adopter and RFTH sign an adoption agreement and the adopter provides an adoption donation of at least $350.
