NNKCR serves southeastern Nebraska, primarily Lincoln and Lancaster County. We also partner with the Capital Humane Society, the Central Nebraska Humane Society in Grand Island, Nebr. and other local rescue groups and city pounds.

Additional adoption info

All prospective adopters contact the group via our website and are required to fill out an adoption form. Volunteers check references and do a home visit. A "meet and greet" is arranged if other family members or pets are involved.
Adoption fees are generally $250.00 for dogs 6 months to 7 years; $150.00 for dogs over 7 years. If a puppy is adopted, the adoption fee is $450.00, but $200 of that is refunded once we have documentation that the animal has been altered. All adult dogs are altered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and tested for heartworm. If the adoption does not work out, NNCKR requires that the dog be returned to us.
