Anchors Aweigh Animal Rescue

Animal rescue in Richmond, TX

My name is Melissa and I am the Executive Director. I started small and have been rescuing on and off for 15 years. We made the plunge to go 501c3 so that we can accept donations and be able to help more in the community by pulling shelter animals when they are going to be euthanized. We are in the process of being approved. We do this because we love animals and feel that we can help with the homeless animal problem we are facing as a city. If interested in volunteering or fostering see our website. www.anchorsaweighanimalrescue.org

Rescue FAQs

We are a small animal rescue serving Fort Bend and Wharton Counties. We hope to grow and be able to help Harris County and surrounding areas. We estimate intaking between 5-10 animals a month at this rate. We need more adopters and fosters to take in more.

Additional adoption info

We have a thorough adoption application(no fee)upon reviewing the application we will do a phone interview. Then if all is well we may schedule a home visit and a meet and greet. Then at that time if potential adopters are in love with the animal we will proceed with finalizing the adoption.

Dog Adoptions: $150-250
Cat Adoptions: $100-125

Reduced adoption fees are applicable in certain situations.
