About The Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue League

We are a pending nonprofit 501(c)3 no kill animal rescue. The Cat’s Meow was formed in 2013 to rescue abandoned, abused and stray cats. Our goal is to become one of the most organized & respected feline organizations in New England! We are dedicated & focused on improving the lives of cats in Connecticut.

Our Volunteer’s Drive Us

The Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue League is comprised of foster homes with dedicated volunteers. We do not have a free standing shelter. Our volunteers open their hearts and their warm homes to take in cats and help them recover physically and emotionally while they adjust to a healthy home life prior to adopting them to their forever homes. We would not be able to do all that we do without our dedicated foster homes.

Along with foster homes we have dedicated volunteers who handle administrative work, fundraising & also assist with socializing the cats who need extra attention. Our volunteers are patient, kind and loving which allow our cats to learn to trust again and help make well rounded pets ready for adoption.

The Cat’s Meow Animal Rescue League works with local town’s Animal Control Officers & the Connecticut Humane Society to take in cats that need care and attention that sitting in a cage would not do. We work on staying local to help the animals in our area to make a difference we can see.

We have training boot camps for new foster homes and volunteers along with Bi-Monthly dinner meetings to discuss administrative and fundraising efforts.

Volunteers, foster families and donations are always welcome and appreciated. Remember, without you, none of this would be possible.

Additional adoption info

The Cat's Meow Animal Rescue League has a process for adopting cats & kittens.

First you email with an inquiry. From there the adoption coordinator reached out and speaks with you about your needs and your feline requirements.

There is an application to complete to provide information on you and your household. We also ask for a Veterinary release to allow us permission to contact your Veterinarian.

From there you can meet the felines and move tot he next phase of the adoption process which is home checks to help us assist you with a smooth transition of the feline to their new forever home.

The last step of process is adoption. There is a contract for you to sign and a donation of $150. This donation goes back into the rescue to help another cat with routine cat, vaccines, spay / neutering and de-worming.
