Animal Rescue Recon, Inc.

Dog rescue in Oakley, CA

Animal Rescue Recon, Inc. was established in September 2012 by a group of dedicated, hard-working animal lovers, all with a passion to make a difference and give unwanted animals a second chance.

Based out of Oakley, CA, Animal Rescue Recon serves East Contra Costa County - an area that has minimal options for homeless or abandoned animals.

Our all-volunteer group has various levels of experience in the field of animal rescue, but all have a heart for helping to find forever homes for our voiceless, furry friends. We have no paid staff - we operate solely on volunteers and services donated by members of the community and local businesses.

Additional adoption info

Our adoptions fees are determined to help recover our expenses put into the dog for vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchip. The fee is $450 for puppies 6 months and under, $400 for over 6 months, and $500 for dogs we took in with medical needs.

We will perform a home-check and/or require pictures of your yard's fencing & gates.

Typically we do not adopt to families with children under the age of 5 unless we know the history of the dog or have witnessed the animal's exposure and reaction to small children.

If you currently own a pet, controlled introductions will be scheduled.

Renters must provide a copy of their lease agreement which reflects the property's pet policy.
