WHAT EXACTLY IS A DOG RESCUE?
"A rescue dog is a dog being rehomed after being surrendered by its original owner"
IT DOESN"T matter WHY it's being done or how it was done. The definition doesn't say it's a rescues place to judge, accuse, bully etc. LIFE HAPPENS!
Our rescue is here to make it a personal experience, make you feel human.
We are a partner in a very difficult time of your life if you you need to rehome your pet, we want to supply compassion and knowledge.
That's what makes the impossible possible!
.
Email: TheFirstStepRescue@sbcglobal.net if you have questions or need help with an owner surrender or finding a new home for your pet.
PLEASE PLEASE whatever you do, don't leave your pet in the street it makes it so hard for them and can even run them finding a furever home.
We will do the best that we can but you do have to give us time
.
The First Step Rescue is also foster home based, small dog rescue.
We are in no hurry to place these dogs, We just want the perfect family for them to live the rest of their lives.
The adoption process consists of an application, home visit, and an adoption fee
Most of the dogs will be spayed/neutered,(depends on age and health). All will be vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped and have received any other necessary medical care. We do local adoptions, within 35 miles of Downers Grove Illinois.
