Central Texas Rat Rescue

Animal rescue in Pflugerville, TX

Central Texas Rat Rescue is a small rescue operating in Pflugerville, TX dedicated to the rescue and care of domesticated (pet) rats and high quality adoption services.

When you adopt from CTRR, you adopt a companion that has been assessed to the best of our ability for health and temperament, with a lifelong return policy. Most rats are already spayed/neutered for a fraction of the cost elsewhere, and all rats have been treated for parasites and given any needed veterinary care. Plus, you give a loving home to a homeless rattie, allowing us to rescue more rats in need! How can you beat that?

Additional adoption info

Adopting a rat from us is not difficult. We like a chance to get to know you and to determine the right fit for your family. We have an adoption application and an adoption contract that must be signed. Our adoption fee is $65 per spayed or neutered rat, $15 per rat if it cannot be spayed/neutered due to age or other concerns. This may seem high, but please keep in mind our rats are spayed and neutered, making them much healthier, happier pets, and we ask less than what we pay for these surgeries. Our adoption fees do not remotely cover our costs.

Rats must be adopted in pairs unless joining resident rats, as rats are highly social animals and need company. CTRR rats WILL NOT be sold as feeders, for laboratory use, or for breeding. Our rats are companion animals only.
