The Franklin Animal Shelter is operated by the Granite State Animal League and has fulfilled its mission to rehome abandoned, neglected, abused and surrendered dogs and cats in Franklin NH since 2002. Other than animals received under its municipal pound contract, the shelter operates as a limited-access shelter and is a registered 501 3 c Charity/ non-profit organization.

The Franklin Animal Shelter services the City of Franklin NH. It contracts as the City's Municipal Pound and accepts resident surrenders of cats and dogs. The Shelter also accepts surrenders from the towns of Hill, Tilton, Northfield, Salisbury & Boscawen. Adoptions are made to any qualified adopter regardless of residency.

All potential adopters are required to submit an application which is researched to ensure that the adoption is a good fit for the animal. This is NOT a first-come, first-served adoption process. Adoption fees are based upon the breed. (cat or dog) and age (youth, adult, senior) and are published on our website at www.franklinanimalshelter.com/adoptions.htm.
